…Humble Transmission of Ancient Teachings…

…to develop Stillness of heart… …and entrain it with Rhythm…

-We endeavor to make formal meditation teachings and the deep healing and growth they bring as a result of their practice, as easily accessible and applicable as we possibly can for all who find their way to us.

Helping to entrain and clarify a firm understanding of the concept of Stillness and how to apply it in a Rhythmic or habituated manner that is invigorating to the practitioner, rather than another daunting daily chore, is paramount in our approach to serving our clients.

These teachings are liberating, uplifting, inspiring and should serve to vitalize an individual’s entire world view. Anything short of this is seen as a failure of transmission at Still Rhythm, which we will never yield to…

Clarity is key in these practices and for this reason Still Rhythm implements a clearly laid out and gradual structure of instruction to facilitate the transmission of this clarity, so that our clients can, in time, Become Their Own Teachers…

(This is in fact at the very heart of the concept of Vipassana or insight practice, i.e. being self-led).

Meditation is the most liberating, freeing, healing, and transformative practice the world has ever known. Which is why it has stood the test of time for well over 4000 years. These teachings are subtle and difficult to grasp clearly, both in the initial stages of practice and in different ways as practice becomes more refined as well, but with the right guidance; with community, support and structure, any practitioner of meditation and esotericism can achieve profound realizations quickly, without years of wasted effort from the general ambiguity that surrounds these practices in modern times. We are eager to impart these gifts of knowledge to you, and to be available to offer comprehensive instruction and training to our clients on this greatest of journeys…

  • Still Rhythm Guidance is the teaching practice of Colton Measles. Colton offers classes, retreats and sound healings in the Denver area and neighboring states and wherever the Dhamma calls or requests him. (To investigate having him host an event in your area navigate to our contact page!.) This website in particular acts as a remote online mentorship platform and portal where we offer education, instruction and personalized one-on-one coaching and mentoring in the fields of meditation practice, emotional development and personal growth, and is aimed at supporting our patrons in these fields of study and practice in every way possible.

Colton has devoted his life to researching, practicing and developing and refining his method of teaching dharma and meditative disciplines so that this method is as intuitive, applicable and as immediately clear and comprehensive as possible to our students and patrons. Colton is deeply versed in systems of thought and practices of inner development and is a life-long practitioner of meditation and a student of the systems found within Theravada Buddhism. He has hundreds of nights and over 3,500 hours of intensive meditation retreat experience in both monastic and lay settings, much of which has been done under a vow of silence. He has over two decades of experience in meditation practice and as much time and experience studying the Pali Canon. He has a firm knowledge base of world cosmologies and related systems of similar practices and wisdom teachings the world over. Colton has an intensive training background in coaching, guided meditation and group meditation guidance through the Guided Meditation Framework. a One Soul Stream llc. certification program and is currently enrolled and studying for his certification as an internationally acknowledged Certified Mindfulness Meditation Instructor through the MMTCP Program offered bi-yearly by Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach through the Sounds True Foundation.

He has been initiated in several shamanic practices from various cultures and is deeply devoted to a path of bringing healing, compassion and kindness to our world through coexistence and synergetic intention.

Colton has been on retreat with and studied and learned from many great teachers, including; Guy and Sally Armstrong, Sharon Salzberg, Carol Wilson, Bhikkhu Bodhi, Ajahn Passano, Ajahn Karunadhammo and Sharda Rogel to name a few. Many friends and associates of Colton say he has a mind like a library, littered with many gems of insight from the many great wisdom teachings of the world and especially from Buddhism and that he has a deep and devoted love of Dhamma.

  • Still Rhythm Guidance grew out of Colton’s deep longing to offer the teachings of meditation in a comprehensive and beneficial way to anyone seeking to more clearly understand and utilize these teachings and practices and to offer mentorship and guidance to anyone seeking to familiarize themselves with the profound depths that these paths of inner inquiry and development can take us to when approached correctly..

We seek to offer the clearest and most comprehensive education and overview of meditative practices as we possibly can, while offering a level of support in their development that is only possible by having developed these practices ourselves, but also because these practices are developed by generations of minds and so their assimilation is always a communal effort. Still Rhythm strives to be such a community.

..Still as a result of release, contented as a result of stillness, and as a result of contentment, internally stable and at ease... This stillness is said to be the result of Awakening...
— The Ananda Sutta, Anguttara Nikaya 9.37 (abridged)

..Everything has Rhythm…

It’s in our bodies, our societies, our minds and our thoughts.

The internet and the natural world.

It’s there whispering faintly in every subatomic particle

and physical interaction throughout the infinite void of space and time..

..It is in the flow of our breath.. And the beating of our hearts…

When we are Still..

Still enough to witness these rhythmic patterns; the cycles apparent in our lives and learn to flow with them without distorting them with rumination and over analysis, insight can arise and clarity can dawn.

..Deep and penetrating…

An intimate understanding of these rhythms and processes and the nature of their arising

is the path to true intimacy and understanding of ourselves and our lives.

A truly awesome power stems from the practice of careful and calm attention to the

rhythms of one’s life and processes of one’s mind; Known as the art of meditation, it guides all we do here at

Still Rhythm…

Do not say that Ananda.. Community isn’t a whole half of the practice... it is the entirety of the practice...
— The Upaddha Sutta of the Mahavagga, Samyutta Nikaya 45.2.

..What we receive adds to what we can offer..

..Your Generosity is greatly appreciated..

The Practice of Generosity, or offering Dana in ancient Pali, is what has kept these ancient teachings alive for so long. The generous sharing and giving of thousands upon thousands of souls through the millennia, right down to us..

Generosity is an inclination of the mind and heart that, when developed and practiced, leads to deep levels of mental purification and release in a practitioner’s inner alchemy (building the foundation for incredible experiences of mental unification and clarity. A kind mind is a free mind). The mundane use of the term on this site refers to a compassionate and moral foundation in regard to how services are rendered and paid for:

-Our Dana is to acknowledge that money shouldn't dictate what you’re allowed to learn-

- Your Dana is in giving what you can-

Between our mutual sacrifices, we build the world we want. Not the one forced upon us.. Dana is about; gratitude.. reflection.. mutual-concern.. consideration.. selflessness.. and at its essence; Human Nobility..
